Winter is Here
After having somewhat of an unusually mild winter we definitely received our share of snow this week. I was out shoveling Monday afternoon only to wake up Tuesday morning to find the driveway and side walk covered with at least 5 inches of new snow. The ski hill operators in the mountains are very excited because they received over 12 inches of new snow in just 24 hours.
Today the mild temperatures returned and the roads are quite slushy. You know, the kind of slush that makes you go through gallons of windshield washer fluid.
Have You Ever Shopped at a Dollar Store?
We did a trip to the Dollar Store this week and we will definitely be shopping there more often.
How is it that the grocery stores and drug stores can charge $9.00 for a bottle of body wash soap and the Dollar Store charges a dollar for the same size bottle with just a different label on it?
Batteries at most stores are $8.00 a package. At the dollar store a pack of 4 double A size batteries is, you guessed it, one dollar!
I always knew that the dollar store was a great place to buy greeting cards, gift bags, wrapping paper, etc.
But this particular Dollar Store is quite large and actually sells brand name items.
And even if some of their products are not brand name, most of these products are usually made by the same manufacturer as the brand name ones anyways.
I’ve read that there are several dollar stores in the states that even sell produce and deli products. Our Dollar Store doesn’t, but I sure wish they did. And if they sold eggs, milk and butter, I’d be forever grateful.
I’ve also had the opportunity this week to make great connections with new people and to continue to get to know my fellow bloggers. Here are some wonderful posts that I collected during the week that I wanted to share with you. Please take a look.
