"Christmas is coming, the goose is getting fat, won't you please put a penny in the old man's hat? If you haven't got a penny, a ha'penny will do. If you haven't got a ha'penny, God bless you."
Christmas Day is certainly getting closer. Believe it or not we have actually had a few years where we didn't have any snow for Christmas, but that doesn't happen too often and it certainly will not be the case this year.
We just had new snow fall the other night and this weekend is going to be pretty cold. Google says it will be -12 C over the weekend.
That’s okay. We have some housework to do and some Christmas baking to do too, so we'll be nice and warm.
I am going to try to make Fruit Cake cookies with rum. In the past we bought small Fruit Cakes at Costco but found that they were super high in sugar. In fact we still have a small unopened one in the fridge from 2 years ago.
I remember my Mom making Fruit Cakes from scratch and then wrapping each Fruit Cake in cheesecloth so that she could soak them in rum for a few months leading up to Christmas. Those were delicious!
Before the weekend begins I just wanted to highlight and share some great posts from this week. Some you may have already read, but I bet there are some that you haven’t seen yet. Please check them out.
